Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC)’s state-of-the-art service provides a full spectrum of care for those living with kidney disease living in the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge, and Peterborough City/County Region.

Nephrology and dialysis services are available for patients with either acute renal (kidney) failure or end stage renal disease (ESRD-chronic kidney failure).  Services provided include:

Individuals admitted into PRHC with kidney disease receive care in the specialized nephrology-medical unit. Off unit peritoneal dialysis is provided by specially trained nurses.

The program operates two satellite centres at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg, Ontario, and Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, to provide renal services to residents close to their homes.

In April 2015, PRHC was designated by the Ontario Renal Network as a Centre of Practice for Peritoneal Dialysis access.
