WHAT WE OFFER
The TALK NOW walk-in clinic for children and youth age 17 and younger is a new service being offered in the Peterborough community.
Open to the public every Tuesday (excluding holidays) from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peterborough Youth Services (459 Reid Street), TALK NOW provides timely access to a single counselling session from a registered professional counsellor. Patients may visit TALK NOW for a wide range of reasons including bullying, separation and divorce, grief, feeling sad, depressed or anxious, gender or sexual identity and challenges at home or at school among others.
WHO WE ARE
TALK NOW is a service offered in partnership by Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC), Kinark Child and Family Services and Peterborough Youth Services. Each organization is combining existing resources to staff TALK NOW. TALK NOW is staffed by:
Registered Nurse (RN)
TALK NOW provides more timely access to mental health services to youth in our community while they are on a waitlist for care. Patients are not limited to one visit and are welcome to come back as often as needed. When there is shared (joint) custody of children age 11 or younger, consent of both parents to participate in the service is required.
HOW TO REFER TO TALK NOW
No referral is necessary at the TALK NOW clinic. Patients seeking care can arrive at the walk-in clinic – no appointment or Health Card is required.
