WHCC Resource Centre

The Resource Centre is the information hub of the Women's Health Care Centre. Our goal is to provide easy access to up-to-date, reliable, appropriate information about women's health. The Resource Centre offers a wide range of educational materials to help women become better informed about their health and health care choices. The Resource Centre is open to the public when the centre is open and clients are welcome to drop in to browse. Services are free and confidential.

The Resource Centre offers the following services:

  • Lending library
  • Referral to other organizations and sources of information
  • Free Internet access to locate health information
  • Photocopying for a small charge.

Here is what is available in the Resource Centre collection:

  • Over 1000 items, including books, cassettes and video tapes, as well as journals, newsletters and other periodicals related to women's health concerns.
  • Wide range of pamphlets and fact sheets
  • Information file with newspaper and journal articles
  • Resources cover many different aspects of women's physical and emotional health from medical, feminist and psychological perspectives.
  • Topics include wellness, body image, violence against women, pregnancy and childbirth, midlife and menopause, self-esteem, assertiveness, and women's conditions and diseases.
