Eating Disorder Program

This program provides outpatient services to people who have eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. At the Women's Health Care Centre the service includes individual and group therapy for clients eighteen years of age and over, and their families.

The program apprach uses a multi-diciplinary team. For example, women may work with a dietitian and social worker, or a social worker and nurse-practitioner. Family doctors are also involved. We are able to work with other agencies or service providers to develop treatment plans for people with eating disorders.

The Family and Youth Clinic at Peterborough Regional Health Centre provides these services to adolescents and their families.

Sometimes eating disorders cause serious medical or emotional problems. Clients with these serious problems may need different treatment than this program offers. Our staff helps these clients find suitable care.

Call the Women's Health Care Centre at 705-743-4132 or 1-800-419-3111 to access services for adults.

Please contact the Family and Youth Clinic at 705-876-5114 for information about services for young people.
