PRHC’s current strategic plan, which guided our priorities during our financial recovery efforts and clinical directions to the end of 2013-14, has helped build – build a vibrant and strong Regional Health Centre that stands ready and capable of meeting the health and fiscal challenges, and opportunities we face. It mandated a commitment to quality and excellence and recognized that attention to our workplace and culture were precursors to great care and job satisfaction.

For this iteration, guiding us to March 2017, we are taking the opportunity to refresh our corporate Mission, Vision and Values, ensuring that they too ring true for the challenges facing the organization, the health of our community and the broader healthcare system.

The strength and success of our next strategic plan rests in the hands of everyone at PRHC, our communities, the public, healthcare partners, and patients. So, to that end, we are looking for your ideas to ensure that PRHC remains strong as a regional provider and a partner, that it contributes to the health of the many communities we serve and that an emphasis on the quality of our care and of our people means patients and their families receive the care they need when they need it most.

Beginning Feb 25 and until March 25, you will have an opportunity to share your thoughts and input in the Your insight, Our future survey. The survey is available online via the intranet, and on our website at http://www.prhc.on.ca/cms/strategic-planning-2014-2017. I encourage you to spread the word and invite your family, friends and neighbours to participate in the online survey available on our website, Twitter and LinkedIn pages.

At the same time, we are surveying our community and many partners for their input too – this is an opportunity for them to share their thoughts about local healthcare services.

Your responses through the survey will help guide the Board of Directors and its leaders – both administrative and clinical - to define the Health Centre’s Mission, Vision and Values as well as the discussions that will follow concerning our next round of strategic directions.
