The PRHC Hospitalist Program is a dynamic and evolving service that has grown rapidly in four years.  The Team cares for approximately 160 in-patients daily, in the areas of Acute Care, Rehab and Complex Continuing Care.  The Program benefits from a multi-disciplinary approach to care with excellent support from specialty services in the Hospital. 

 

Hospitalists work an overlapping (block) cycle rotation, carrying a caseload of approximately 18-20 patients and following these patients from admission to discharge, as much as scheduling/rostering permits.  Hospitalists acquire patients via physician to physician contact through the Emergency Department or other service(s)/facilities.
