You can help ease pain, restore health and save lives
Investing in new medical equipment and technology is fundamental to delivering excellent patient care. It is only through the continued support from our community – individuals, businesses, clubs and groups - that we can put the best tools in the hands of our dedicated health professionals.
While the Government plays a critical role in hospital funding - financing up to 85% of PRHC’s operating budget - government funding simply isn’t sufficient to meet the escalating need for state-of-the-art technology.
The Right Tools in the Right Hands
Our hospital must keep pace with advances in technology to ensure we can deliver the best possible patient care and to continue to attract the best and the brightest physicians, nurses, technologists and specialists to deliver the care we expect.
Over the last decade, the speed of advances in medical technology and treatment options has been breathtaking. At the same time, the demand on our hospital has grown steadily, as has the acuity level of the patients entering our doors.
New technology clearly redefines the delivery of health care. However, while new technology offers significant promise, it comes with a high price, making success of this campaign vital. While government funding is an important part of our hospital’s operations, it simply doesn’t cover the investment needed to have the best equipment at the bedside of our patients.
The Opportunity to Make a Difference
A donation to the PRHC Foundation is your opportunity to contribute to:
- continued improvements in patient care
- more successful outcomes
- increased access to essential healthcare services
- shorter waiting lists for necessary procedures
- retaining and attracting scarce healthcare professionals.
From the Lakes region to the city of Peterborough itself, we all benefit from the services of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre when we need them most. Only by investing consistently and persistently in new equipment and technology can we make further advances in patient care, save more lives, reduce recovery time, improve efficiency as well as attract and retain medical staff.
Funding Priority List
Each year, PRHC's highly qualified team determines what equipment is most vital for the hospital to purchase. The result is a Priority Capital Equipment List. The equipment on this list is essential and equipment that the hospital simply cannot do without. For more information, please contact the foundation.
